Stratus Lab

The STRATUS LAB research group at the Department of Engineering of the University of Messina collaborates on projects in Artificial Intelligence, Large Language Models, IoT, Cybersecurity, and numerical optimization, with a focus on industrial, educational, and technological applications.

The main research lines include: the use of LLMs for personalized virtual tutors in local schools and for vehicle control via textual prompts; the development of route optimization algorithms in collaboration with a Milan-based delivery company; and participation in the Zancle E-Drive project for the development of an autonomous electric car for Formula Student.

The lab also manages a cybersecurity hacklab that participates annually in CyberChallenge.IT and other competitions.

The group collaborates with national and international institutions including STMicroelectronics, CNR, SERICS, CINI, Northeastern University, ETH Zurich, and NVIDIA.
